Better Part Designs Lead to Better Molded Parts.

Before tooling begins, New England Molding reviews customer-supplied part designs for injection-molding manufacturability. We identify features that may create molding challenges, increase tooling costs, or contribute to quality problems during production.

If a design is not well suited for injection molding or may be better suited to another manufacturing process – we explain the concerns and work with the customer to determine the best path forward.

The Quoting Process

Submit your part drawings or CAD files and we’ll return a comprehensive quote  tooling and production pricing within 1–2 weeks. Our engineering team reviews every submission before the quote is issued, so what you receive is accurate and includes any design recommendations we’d make before building the tool.

Design for Manufacturability Review

Our team evaluates each design from an injection-molding and production perspective, including:

Part geometry and overall moldability

Draft angles and undercuts

Wall thickness and transitions

Gate and ejector considerations

Material flow and potential defects

Tolerances and dimensional stability

Tolerances and dimensional stability

Opportunities to simplify production and reduce cost

Note on SLA / 3D Printing

Our SLA capabilities are used internally to support engineering and tooling development. We do not offer standalone prototyping services. If you need a prototype before tooling, we can connect you with trusted local resources for prototyping and CAD design.

Design for Manufacturability Review

Our team evaluates each design from an injection-molding and production perspective, including:

Collaborative Design Support

We provide practical recommendations to make parts easier to mold, improve repeatability, and reduce the risk of defects. We collaborate with the customer throughout the review process and can connect them with qualified product designers or engineering resources when more extensive design changes are needed.

Customer Approval

You maintain control of your design. New England Molding provides recommendations from a manufacturability and injection-molding perspective. The customer retains responsibility for the final part design, specifications, intended use, performance requirements, and regulatory compliance. No design change, tooling work, or production begins without customer approval.

Validation & Documentation

All new programs go through a structured validation process before full production. Processing parameters are established, quality protocols defined, and sample parts submitted for your approval before volume runs begin. Retained samples are kept on file.
